One month ileostomy here with a fistula. I put paste around the inside of my barrier. I also decided to put a barrier strip on the top of my bag so it doesn't pull when full. So far, I'm wearing this setup a little longer. As soon as I get one area of skin clearer, up pops another. That seems to help the most so far. I also ordered Marathon and Cavilon 3M Advanced skin protectant to help clear up my skin. $$$ I'll use one of them on my next change to see if things clear up and stick better.

The paste might help fill in the gap. Put it in the back of your barrier. I found the "Ostomy Diaries" on YouTube, and that girl shares a lot of helpful tips. So much to find on YouTube.

Can you cut a V in the barrier around your belly button to make it lay flatter? I use Sensura Mio too. You can also put the wafer on lengthwise so the shorter side is towards your belly button.
