When I first had surgery, the nurse set up an account with EdgePark for me (2014). Ordering was easy, and I rarely had issues. In 2018, EdgePark dropped my insurer, no one notified me, I found out when my order didn't show up. My insurer then assigned me AdaptHealth PCS (formerly McKesson). From day one, there were issues. In between AdaptHealth and BlueCross is CareCentrix. The issues have continued and worsened to the point I'm buying supplies online out of my pocket because they screw my order up so often. They send what they deem necessary, long hold times, there's no catalog still, their "Express Reorder" is a joke, a bad joke. What's express about not being able to complete any order online and having to call them? And having to verify that I'm me, every time? There's no follow-up when there are issues. Every time I get someone on the phone, they claim to note my account. I gave up trying to make sense of their bills, talking to them on the phone was just as bad. "Why does it look like you are billing me for pouches individually?" Since I can't order 7, why do I see a line item for pouches? Since the bills usually don't amount to much, I just pay them. No one seems to know exactly what "DME" I'm covered for specifically, and every few months some item suddenly "isn't covered by your insurance" (Adhesive Remover wipes, c-strips, wound wash). I just don't have the fortitude to continue to fight them, I'm seeking a new medical supplier, and if necessary, a new insurer. I have had ENOUGH!!!
Since I've only had these two medical suppliers to compare, I'm willing to check out who else is out there! While I used EdgePark, I must have gotten spoiled by signing into my account, picking what supplies I needed, paying my 20 right in the account, and could place an order at any time of day or night. Maybe their service has fallen off, but I'm glad they were the first company I had to deal with after this major surgery. I can't imagine having AdaptHealth/McKesson as my first experience with a medical supplier. Dealing with them has been a setback for my emotional health, NJ resident, suggestions welcome!
