What the heck? Stoma spewing like cRaZy! 😧

Yes stoma spewing is normal right?

But I have a double barrel ileostomy and it's the other stoma, the normally quiet and just spews out a chunk once in awhile, that for some reason today, spewed for several minutes like a faucet. Mucus, smelly yellow white mucus. Phew. I thought I sprung a leak on my new fresh bag I put on this morning.

Will I need to put on another bag now? 

It stinks.

I just had it taped over with a bit of petroleum jelly to keep it from getting dried out and bleeding. Dig out a bugger once in awhile. Nothing like this ever occurred before.

This also seems to have occurred around the same time I had a bowel movement for the the first time in 15 months two days ago. A few chunks of hardened mucus. Yep I have a temporary Ileostomy.

So anyone have a clue why my intestines have suddenly gone mucus CrAzY? 

Could it be something you ate? Or did you not eat and skip a meal? Could it be some sort of malfunction of your ileostomy? It is hard to know. If you are in pain seek medical treatment. If it's just a smelly mess clean it up and start with a new bag. Put some pouch deodorant in the next bag when you change it. Then if it happens again hopefully it won't smell so much. 

Well I squeezed out a big chunk, likely the one responsible for backing everything up.

So I always suspected as only little chunks came out but now that the big one is out hopefully things will go back to normal.

I have one bag already, I don't need another one. 

It seems to have calmed down.
