In the next 1-2 months, I will be placing my first order for urostomy pouches, barriers, and overnight bags. My home health nurse placed our first order of a few supplies. Edgepark was suggested, but I know there are other places out there. I am looking for a company that has a good following and rating for quick/free delivery. A company that will contact my surgeon for the order and contact my Medicare group and file the necessary paperwork. I think Hollister barriers and pouches are going to work well for me. Any suggestions and helpful information are appreciated.

Welcome, retired army 1!

The only experience I have with Edgepark is with diabetic supplies a couple of years ago. I was so glad to get supplies locally now. It was a bit of a nightmare getting supplies from them through the mail.

With my ostomy supplies, I went with Byram. I've had many issues with them as well. Unfortunately, I think you will find horror stories with every vendor out there.

So your mileage will vary!

I was set up with Edgepark by my ostomy nurse. So I've continued to order from them and haven't had any problems so far. But I'm reasonably new. I use the online store to order, and it's fairly straightforward.

They will contact your doctor for necessary paperwork. I needed wound care supplies but didn't have that condition on file. So they shepherded that through... it took forever, but between insurance, the doctor, and Edgepark, it isn't clear where the holdup was. However, I didn't need to do anything once I placed the order.

Hi, welcome! I've been getting my supplies from Edgepark for 11 years and have had no issues. Their customer service has always been great. Wish you the best of luck.

I have been using EdgePark for my ostomy supplies. I tried using their Continucare service, but it would leave off items, include items I never ordered, or substitute with items I didn't prefer. I abandoned Continucare and placed a standalone order each month. You probably want to use your PCP for your Rx. Surgeons generally are not the ones to be contacted for your Rx.

I get my supplies from Byram. They have been really good. They arrive within 2-3 days after ordering. They screwed up once and sent the wrong supplies, but quickly sent me the right ones when I let them know.

I agree they are good to fix mistakes! But like aTraveler said with Edgepark, Byram too will send stuff that you didn't order in replacement and without consulting with you. On that note, they also don't tell you about backordered items until you find out from the invoice that it got backordered.

On the other hand, when they did substitute the Adapt deodorant lubricant I was using with the Brava version, I discovered I liked it better!

Edgepark is horrible; don't go through them. They won't send out your full order. I was left bagless while they sent out adhesive remover and barrier extenders but not bags. Also, they tried charging me for a product that I never received and literally harassed me for a year while I had to talk to a supervisor and managers who looked and saw I never received the products, but cancelling still didn't stop them. When you call, one person from the next has no idea what they are doing.

I would try Bryham or Comfort Medical. Prism is horrible as well; I do not recommend them as they won't even send out the brand you use, even when you order it.

I am new to the process too. I had a horrible experience with Edgepark, setting me back two weeks in getting my first supplies coming off home health care. Horrible and delayed communication, and they would not send the product unless I paid them $250 first for my Medicare copay. I found Comfort Medical on my own and went with them for now. Not perfect, but far more responsive than Edgepark and never asked me for a dime. They billed insurance.

I order my ileostomy supplies from Edgewater, and they have been great; they also have good support.

Not a single problem with Byram. Nice people on the phone, easy to order online, very fast service (usually here in three days).
