Saw my docter today and everythink is looking good on the Illyostomy front. now I just have to get a Cystoscopy on April3 and I will be ready for the summer this trying to live on disability benifits sucks even wors than the Illiostomy.  $622.00 per month buys me food for half the month I sold my snowmobile last week so that should keep me going for the next three months I hate to sell stuff that I worked so hard to obtain but snowmobiling is pretty much a thing of the past for me anyway I haven't even started it since the heart attack for years ago. so it is no big loss I hope I don't have to sell my four wheeeler as I need it to get in and out of my driveway when it rains and during spring thaw and for moose hunting in the fall for getting in to the lake for fishing

So glad to know that everything is going well with your recovery!  All the folks that have had reversals within a few weeks of one another seem to be doing very well.  We all have much to be thankful for!

I've been getting disability benefits for a while now....as you say, not much to keep you going but I have my hubby's income, too, so it is not sooo hard for me.  Hopefully things will get better for you on the income front, soon.  I am sorry you had to sell your snowmobile...sounds like you weren't really using it so chalk it up to getting rid of "clutter" around your house....We are getting ready to put our house on the market so I am going through and getting ready to "de-clutter" everything, too.  I am certain that a big garage sale lies in my future!

Sounds like you live a life of an outdoorsman!  I love fishing and used to go a lot when I lived in Arkansas for a couple of years a long time ago.  I've been fishing in a few of the lakes around here but not in the past couple of years since being so ill.  I will have to put that on my "recovery list"......to get out and do some fishing soon!

Hey Steven,

I'm very glad that your recovery is going so well. I also have an Ileostomy for the past 4 years...but have been DENIED disability benefits twice already. Do you or someone else know how come I'm not able to get it? As you said, it's so damn hard living nowadays with not much income at all. I do get SS Widow's benefits which are similar to what you're getting on disability. From what my lawyer told me, I should qualify for SS Disability, too, due to my Ileostomy and other medical conditions that I have. If you know how or what else I should be doing to get Disability, please let me know. Meanwhile, keep on keeping on...something will work out for you soon! Thanks!

I understand about the disability benefits not being enough to sustain living very well and not enough food etc......lots of love to each of you!!  Having the medical problems we do makes life more of a challenge for certain, that is also why I am fixing up bedrooms and DONE with living alone and will be moving people in to share expenses.....it's a matter of survival.   Cheers!  OH...Green Eyed Lady, have Binder & Binder help you....they WILL get you disability dear, good luck! xoxo http://www.binderandbinder.com/

Thank  you for your reply. I hope your recovery continues I had a bit of problems this week it started wensday I was constipated so I made a batch of bran muffins I only had two small ones then yesterday while on my morning ski I had to do a bush dump I had toilet paper just in case but by the time I got home to wash my bottom I has a severe case of what the nurses call my diaperless diaper rash (I normaly wash good after each use). So today I'm quite sore down there . You had your ostomy a lot longer than I did are you haveing the same problems?
