I found this site today and would like to know what it's all about, before becoming a full member.  I do have an ostomy.

Hi  well its all about  talking about any problems if you need any advice . or want to meet anyone else whos in the same position as your self. friendship with others . writing about different things to do with your life with an ostomy   swapping ideas. But i myself like to hear what others have to say in there exsperiances with having an ostomy. Many people on here   come on to chat one to one   with full membership ,or just have the free membership as i do, and still find im able to communicate through blogs or email if i need to.. Theres lots of interesting reading  and many tips you can pick up along the way, i think its a great site and have made many friends.. Hope this is of some help.. tc ambies...

Welcome along Firedup! Like Ambies says, they're a good lot here and I know folk here have helped me through some of the rougher times, in particular when I first had my colostomy. It can be a dating site, but seems to be more of a "help" site. I do know of one marriage that happened due to this site, but for the most  part it seems to be a site for knowledge sharing. Lots of great people on here that are always willing to help in any way then can.

well, its definitely a combination of both a support forum and Dating site. I you really looking more to meet and talk to people on a personal level then you can pay to become a full member so you can PM and chat -if you just her to give and or get support then you can just stay a basic member and do that -there's a lot of happily married people on here just for support. I thing the high number of people just looking for just support is what keeps the message board alive and going, if a majority of people were looking at is a dating site then it would be nearly as active site as it had been.
