A leak, skin problems, changing too often, odor, etc, all happen for a reason. Sometimes we just don't know the reason and get frustrated. Some of us are better detectives than others and some have better hands and fingers than others. So many of us here will jump at the opportunity to help others but we need to really understand what's going on and try to find that “reason”. We might take things for granted sometimes and assume the reader knows exactly what we mean. I think there are remedies here to all our problems once we can identify the causes and accurately communicate our thoughts. If we know the reason we can make the problem go away. I don't want to think this bad stuff happens just because we're ostomates. Let's do our Sherlock Holmes' stuff.

Respectfully,

Mike

Thanks for the input, you hit the nail on the head. I've wondered "why me" alot of times. But as life continues I have observed several people that are in worse condition than me. It does not make me feel better but more fortunate.

Hey Hawk, you also nailed it. I think what I was trying to say is we often don't have to be as miserable as we might be just because we're ostomates. Sure there's the bag thing but is that what's causing the skin excoriation, the leaking seal, the anxiety or depression? There's a reason for whatever might be bothering me and I owe it to myself and anyone who cares about me to identify that reason.

Thanks for your message.

Sincerely,

Mike

Great post and responses! It is true that with the help of others we can find the cause of an issue sometimes much quicker. A fresh look at what we think we already know sometimes helps us see more clearly. Putting our collective heads together to find a solution is a good pratice.
