Hi, my name is Dee and I am extremly grateful for this site.  I am 85 years old and have had my colostomy bag for almost 6 years.  Just recently I have a hernia which is adjoining my stoma.  I have already got a belt which is uncomfortable.  I am wondering if there is any kind of microscopic surgry to get rid of the hernia.  I am super afraid of getting a reversal and undergoing surgery.  I am extremely terrified of having anesthesia.  I was very very sick after my operation.  Can anyone help me.....Thank you!!!!

check with an ostomy nurse.  I have skin problems and belts are uncomfortable.  I have had my ostomy for 25 yrs.  I now wear 2 pairs of underwear.  The bottom pair has an extra hole in it.  It acts like a belt.  I fold the hole back and sew seam binding lace on to it to strengthen it.  It works for me!
