Today marks my one-week reversal anniversary. What a way easier recovery for me than the first time. I had a lot of nausea and vomiting at the hospital and ended up staying one night longer. Does anyone know info on using Hollister 2-part high output system used with urostomy pouch with nozzle?

Dear Ostomy Community,
I am planning on undergoing surgery for an ileostomy later this spring. One pressing question I have is how the ileostomy affects absorption of medication since I'm on numerous meds for other conditions.
I so very much appreciate in advance your insights and knowledge.

Hi all, new to the site, first post. I have severe aggressive Crohn's all throughout along with anal fistulas and perianal disease. My doctor wants me to try the reversal - no pressure from her, I really like her - but I have been thinking about making my ileostomy permanent and getting a total proctocolectomy as well as a hysterectomy due to uterine prolapse, fibroids, and adenomyosis.

I had my first BMs since getting an ileostomy 3 months ago. It is making me nervous since I'm not used to it, but I saw online that they aren't that uncommon or usually an issue. Can anyone let me know what signs there would be or how I could tell if/when a BM is unhealthy?

Today marks 1 week from my colostomy reversal, woooh! Felt like a long week LOL. The trips to the restroom are down to 4 times a day so far since ditching the Ensure. I've been supplementing protein with my normal vegan protein powder, and I wonder if things would have gone much differently without the Ensure. Hey everyone, wondering if cooked bean sprouts and water chestnuts are okay with an ileostomy? I've actually never had a blockage in 4 years except ileus or pseudo, no physical blockage. Just curious if people tolerate them okay? I had a revision at Mayo, and they did a great job making a larger opening, lumen, etc.

I am currently using ConvaTec 2-piece urostomy pouch and flange. I'm wondering if anyone has had issues where the urine pools around the stoma and doesn't properly drain into the pouch?
