1 week post-op. Seem to have no bowel control. Stand and it just comes out. Also concerned about a UTI. Wearing Depends because I never know when a bowel movement will come.

Have a hernia next to and under my stoma that just developed in the past week. All I have had is flat wafers and, even before the hernia, I had quite a bit of leakage because of all of the creases in my skin. Hello, does anyone here with an ileostomy take omeprazole? I know the gel caps have coated beads that just come out in the bag. Or any other PPI that will be absorbed with an ileo? Non-enteric coated or? Thanks all.

I wear a clear transparent ostomy bag and have started to notice a white freckled substance spotting the inside of my bag. Is this bacteria? Possibly from something I'm consuming? I don't want this to cause an infection, so I'm going to change it out. It's probably been about 4 days.

I am 8 weeks post-surgery and am looking for ways to put on weight. I am eating well considering the extent of my surgery. I have an ileo and partial gastrectomy. I have tried Fortisip and Ensure, but both give me diarrhea. Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks.

I have begun to really like adhesive-coupled wafers and pouches. They don't support ostomy belts since that could pull the coupling apart. It would be nice to have a way to add further support for the pouch. I use flange extenders and they work fine. There are wraps that are advertised as supporting the pouch. Do these wraps provide support without connecting around the flange/wafer? Is anyone ...

Does anyone know where I can donate all my medical supplies? I had a reversal last July and I know how important these supplies are (boxes of bags, tapes, sprays, paste, etc.) when you have an ostomy.
