Wow, what an inspiration you are, Terri! I am happy to hear the carnivore diet has given your life back! I wasn't as blessed. I was just getting started (120 days!) and the next day I ended up having my sigmoid removed and a stoma created. My body didn't do well on carnivore sadly. I miss it though sadly! Blessings to you!

IGGIE, I was told not to eat steaks. I guess you have good teeth. Myself, I have dentures, and I guess I need to get a new set. These don't chew up meat well, and I am so afraid of trying different foods because of that and blockages. Got any advice for me?

Congratulations, I got my colostomy in 2017 and in 2018 started the carnivore diet, well Keto really, because I do eat vegetables, salads, and stir-fries. Are you 100% carnivore? I have thought of doing that. In fact, lately, I have been craving sugar really bad and have broken my keto diet something bad. And am really upset with myself.

I am impressed with your comments and 538 days. I did great for over four years. I need a good swift kick to get me back on track. But have lost my cheering section that kept me on the straight and narrow. So again after Christmas fudge day, I am trying to start over. I also do intermittent fasting which keeps my weight down.

It is stories like yours that help me to regroup and get strong again.

Thank you, Klancee

G-Day Missb,

If I were you, I would buy a meat mincer and mince all your meat first and make burgers. Just add some onions and they would be easy to chew. Or find a recipe for shepherd's pie; if you can't find one, I will send it to you. I hope this helps.

Regards, IGGIE

Klancee,

I am going to disappoint some people here because I too fell off the wagon. I am about 99% carnivore these days as I do make lazy cabbage rolls light on the cabbage, cauliflower, rice, and tomatoes, heavy on the ground beef, butter, and bacon. I only have a serving a couple of times a month, but it satisfies my craving for veggies without much fallout. Mentally, I still want vegetables, but they hurt me to digest.

Please do not beat yourself up about falling off the wagon. It happens to everyone, including me, but like everything, you just get back on that horse. I have an allergy to the contrast dye they use for CT scans and had a doozy of a reaction after my last scan in December. It left me feeling sorry for myself that I work so hard and yet there are so many things out of my control. I have also been craving sweets and bread over the holidays, so I decided that I would cheat for my birthday, which is on New Year's Day, and have cake... one piece turned into 6 pieces over 6 days. I used to love chocolate-coated peanuts and received a bag at Christmas time, and so ate that too. Next thing I know, I'm eating a dozen chocolate chip cookies and having rye bread toast with my eggs, lol. I was out of control for 2 weeks and gained 12 lbs. I became gassy, had digestive pain, I was tired, and my arthritis flared up. I just did not feel well. I alone sabotaged myself short term but needed the reminder of why I eat carnivore, because I feel and look better eating meat, fat, and eggs.

I'm back on track now and will not punish myself for indulging, but I took pictures of my newly acquired chub and journaled about how bad I felt as a reminder for next time, and there will be a next time because I'm human.

I just had my 3-year colonoscopy, which came back clear, so now I'm good for 5 years. The good news set me back on the straight and narrow. Be kind to yourself and just get back on track. I'm proud of you, and if you need a reminder of what's at stake, this forum and the people on it will remind you. Best wishes.

Great news, Terri, on your clean colonoscopy.

Sometimes... we just gotta have it.

After 2 years of no fried food whatsoever, I succumbed to a Chick-fil-A Spicy Chicken sandwich. It was so good. From there, down the slippery slope I went. Munched half a box of delicious See's candy. My wife was appalled, mainly because I ate all the good ones. 😃 Later in the week, I hit rock bottom. Shuffled into McDonald's and enjoyed a Big Mac, large fries, and a chocolate shake. Now firmly "back on the wagon," I'm resolute! I'm only eating healthy stuff... till next time. 😉
