Hi Chiquis, back in the day Rolf Berniscke was a spokesperson for the ostomy site UOAA.org, and I commented on how I used to watch him when he played football. He sent me a letter thanking me for being a fan and stating that we ostomates can do anything we want to.

I am surprised by the football players! I know that we ostomates should not limit ourselves when it comes to expectations of what we can achieve, but I'm wondering how these guys protect that very tender and vulnerable area from injury, when they are playing one of the roughest contact sports there are. I know there are ostomy protectors, but I guess I didn't think they would work well enough to engage in that kind of activity. Glad that I was wrong though!
