I was on here in June saying I was considering a colostomy. My husband wasn't up for the idea, well we've come a long way since then, now he's on board. I'm scheduled for the laparoscopic colostomy surgery Tues. Sept. 9th. After previously not talking to anyone about it, now all my kids know and numerous other people. I credit this site with helping me 'come out of the closet' about it and being able to talk about it. I am excited/apprehensive/hopeful about the surgery changing my life for the better, and praying all will go well. Take care and thank you for the previous encouraging comments.

Lynn

Hi jillian,

It's great to hear that you've found support and encouragement from this community. You're definitely in the right place to get plenty of support from the large group of people here who understand what you're going through.

It sounds like you've made some significant progress since June, and it's wonderful that your husband is now on board. It's completely normal to feel a mix of emotions before surgery, but it's encouraging to hear that you're hopeful about the positive changes it can bring. Sharing your journey with your family and others can be a huge relief and help you feel more supported.

Congratulations on being part of this community! You'll find lots of support, information, and some really cool people who are more than willing to share their experiences and advice. Wishing you all the best for your upcoming surgery!

Hi Jillian,
Hope you come back to visit when things settle down. I am glad you are hopeful, and I too will keep you in prayer.
