DEPILATION.

Depilation has been defined
as hair removed of any kind,
so how might this relate to us
with stomas and defunct anus?

This rhyme is one I wish to share
with those who try to remove hair
from round their stomas or their bum
so painful pulling’s overcome.

Personally, I shave round there
to remove unwanted hair
because adhesive on my bags
sticks to the hair and always snags.

It’s much like pulling plasters where
the sticky substance will then tear
the hair away from the soft skin
and from the socket that it’s in.

This is a painful process and
I could never understand
the logic that may lead me to
leave my fate to sticky glue.

A razor must be used with care
to remove the stoma hair,
but once it’s done, the hair is gone,
and I feel free to carry on.

The hairs around my anus suck,
because the mucus will get stuck
and act like glue to tug and pull
which can make it quite painful.

So, I shave ‘round there as well
and, as far as I can tell,
I’m comfortable when I’m hair-free
so, depilation works for me.
