Has anybody used Prilosec in their meds? My mom has an ileostomy. She's 87. They prescribed the Prilosec for gut health. Mom is on a feeding tube. My mom was independent, then this surgery zapped the life out of her. She's bedridden. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi

I take Prilosec daily. I tried not taking it, but I was having problems swallowing, plus my stomach started to hurt. As soon as I took a Prilosec, everything went away. My doctor told me I should get off of it, but I can't find a suitable replacement. So to answer your question… yes, I take Prilosec, and it does help me. Good luck and God bless.

I take Prilosec twice a day. It doesn't do a lot for me, but I recently found out I have a dysfunctional gallbladder, so that might be why Prilosec isn't helping me.

My husband has an ileostomy and takes Prilosec every other day for GERD.
