DISCUSSION. ( stoma stuff)
It’s good to think we can discuss
a range of things without much fuss
or concern about content
for there is rarely malintent.
It’s great to have some good chinwags
with friends about our stoma bags,
or anything to do with it
like muck, mucus, and other shit.
Discussions with folk who don’t know
about these things will surely show
in the way that they react
and the fact that they retract.
It’s comforting to talk to folk
who daily bear this heavy yoke,
knowing that they will respond
with kindliness, of which I’m fond.
Discussing what is disgusting
can be a satisfying thing
if it is carried out between
people who are also keen.
Without a group discussion where
people can feel folk really care,
there might be some inclination
towards some social isolation.
When we discuss stuff candidly,
even if cack-handedly,
or even sometimes fearfully,
yet still we converse cheerfully.
When other people don’t want to
discuss those things to do with poo,
then a discussion group like this
provides us with a great service.
