Hey everybody, I am two years in with a colonoscopy, have had that removed, and an ileostomy placed, and I'm having terribly loose stools. I eat right, no junk food. I have seen people use a product they drop in the bag to thicken the stool. Does anybody know what that product is? I'm trying to find it to order. Thanks, everybody.

I will add to Hibiscus's list: thick butternut squash soup. Works like a charm.

ConvaTec also has a gelling product:

You should request samples from both.

In terms of diet, bananas are excellent at solidifying output for me.

My ostomy nurse said Metamucil is good. I have three gummies in the morning and a couple at night. No more liquid output.

I have found that to be true about butternut squash soup also!

My output did not matter what I ate! Sometimes thick, sometimes pure liquid. I tried some things, but Ms. Stoma had a mind of her own. I just dealt with whatever she decided to expel. I hope these tips work for you!
