Hello everyone! I’m new here but in need of some advice. I have had faint yellow (almost translucent) colored watery output for the last 5 hours or more. I feel nauseous and my abdomen is on fire with my muscles contracting every 5 minutes or so. I am really trying to stay out of the hospital. So far I’ve taken a Lomitol, 2 Immodium, omeprazole (for the gerd), and my medical marijuana for the pain and slowing of my output. However nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!!!!

G-Day Mrk, it sounds like you may have a blockage. If you start to vomit, head for the emergency room ASAP. Regards, Iggie

Agreed to the above, does that medication slow the stomach down? I've always used a hot water bottle if I can for the pain.

It seems to me you have a severe case of runaway diarrhea, your body's way of rejecting harmful or poisonous substances by ejecting them out. Mixing products from untested and tested sources isn't a very good idea.

Medical marijuana isn't really medical; it's illegal on the federal level, but some states have created medical marijuana allowances. So, this stuff hasn't been tested with other legitimate medications because it's illegal in most places to have any of it.

My advice is to see your legitimate doctor right away, even the ER if it's really bad, and explain the problem, including your use of medical marijuana.

You hopefully should then go cold turkey and be reevaluated, then stick to the more tested, federally approved medications that you're not having adverse reactions to. If not, then seek rehabilitation services.

Marijuana stays in your system for 30-40 days after last use or secondhand smoke. So, it might be quite some time before you reach a stable base state where your body returns to normal.

If you have trouble putting a bag on, which is nearly impossible with a runaway diarrhea situation, is to visit the ER where they have a suction machine you hold, and it vacuums up the liquid parts, but not any of the solids, but it will do.

You also may have a clog, as your output is void of solids, meaning liquid is getting through only.

It could be something you ate, often beer, alcohol, or certain nutritional drinks, or too much starch or other watery foods can produce volumes of liquid.

It may be a very long night and perhaps hours before the stoma quits spewing long enough. Make sure it's covered, or it can squirt all over the room.

Bring your ostomy supplies with you and a change of clothes.

Good luck 🍀

If you have a blockage, taking Imodium is not a good idea. It is likely to cause you more problems than it will solve. You might have a blockage; it sounds like it... you need to be careful about how you proceed from here. You might get dehydrated from all the output. It would be best if you went to your local ER and had it checked out, especially if you begin vomiting.
