Hi, I have had a colostomy since 2009 due to a botched appendix removal; they missed something, and I had an infection that basically stuck my bowel together. Since then, I have episodes where I get vomiting and stomach cramps once or twice a year. Usually, a shot of anti-sickness, morphine, and a lie down at home makes it go away, but sometimes it does not recover, and I take a trip to A & E. There, they just pump me full of morphine and scan to find the blockage. It usually recovers on its own over a couple of days, but recently I have had the surgeon wanting to open me up again for a peek inside. I managed to convince him that it would work, and he waited a couple more days, and it did work on its own.

Does anyone else have this issue, and how do you manage it?

Do you think it is diet related?
