Hopefully someone has told you to get a hernia support belt. You can get them in many sizes from 9 inches wide down to 3 inches. Nu-Hope is the company that makes them and they also have them fitted for whichever appliance you use. I had to have one after I got a hernia from coughing so hard. The only time I take it off is at night when I go to bed or when I take a shower. It also helps keep your appliance on as the stoma fits through a hole and the belt keeps the appliance tight to your skin. The swelling does not sound good I would also see your doctor to see if you've developed another hernia.
