Who's Attending the UOAA Conference in New Orleans?

Hi, all. I'm considering attending the UOAA conference in Newe Orleans in early August. A long ways from the mountains of Nelson, BC, Canada, but I so want to meet other ostomates in person. It looks like a great line-up of information, networking and entertainment. Just curious if anyone here was considering attending.

I WISH I could go...I would love to go but unfortunately will not be able to, so those of you who DO, I am axious to hear all about it.  Looks like it should be quite fun and loads of information and helpful support.

I'm going. It will be my secound National Conference. If your going best get on with plans now. Doe what is this "Can't" go.                                 Kevin

Hello everyone. I am going to the conference in New Orleans as well. It will be my 5th conference. My very first just happened to also be in New Orleans but way back in 1988!



I've been wanting to go back since then and I'm looking extremely forward to this trip. I'm flying in on the 5th and returning home on the 9th. I'm also attending the banquet on Saturday night.



Not sure how many lectures or sessions I'll be attending, I might just hang out poolside and go exploring around the city most of the time I'm there. We'll see once I get there! I'm hoping to run into friends that I haven't seen in a very long time as well! And having some authentic New Orleans cooking is a requirement that I have to fulfill.

Hello there. As someone who has been to several conferences,albeit many years ago, most are very informative and helpful and YES you will see plenty of supplies! From past experience there is usually an 'exhibit hall', and everyone and anyone who manufacture ostomy or ostomy related supplies are on hand.



Plenty of 'freebies' and raffles as well from what I can remember. Convatec and Hollister have been involved for many years and all the events they sponsor are well worth attending. I'll be there this year and I'm looking very forward to seeing New Orleans again!

I would love to go to New Orleans but I should be returning to work in about the middle of August.  I just found out that the United Ostomy Association of Canada is having their conference in Toronto on the 16th - 18th of August.

I have Westjet points so I might try to get to that one.

The conference in New Orleans was back in 2009 -I attended and was super awesome we had a great representation of Canadian Ostomates make the trip! -there has since be in Reno Last Summer that I missed. I would love to go to the One in Toronto too -to represent you neighbors to the south, but sadly cant afford it
