I again find myself with out supplies. EdgePark is truly awful and I've been informed they can do nothing until Tuesday. I'm hoping to locate a pharmacy that might carry ostomy supplies any clues. I know I need an alternative supplier. EdgePark has for the past 3 months left me very close to running out and this time I have and am totaly blind. When I speak to the teens answering the phone they are silent at the other end then say can you spell that? Please any suggestions? Thank you, Chris.

I have Aetna insurance, and can't find a local dealer that will accept their insurance, so I mail order through Sterling Medical in Moorestown NJ. They actually call me from their "easy refill department" well before I actually need to re-order. I always just ignore their call, and wait until I get low to call them, and have them within a week or less. They wait until they get the claim back before they ever send me a bill for the remainder.

I'm sure there are many others out there that would do a better job than your current provider, but this is just one possibility.

Chris,  look up Best Buy Medical Supplies  ( http://www.bestbuymedicalsupplies.com/ ) .  this is an online medical supply company which specializes in Ostomy and Colostomy products among others.  Delivery is prompt and free in the US if your order is over $100.  I have been dealing with this organization for many years and have always had great service here in Canada.

Good luck.

I am with EdgePark and have never had an issue with the company.  I am sorry that you are having a problem, if you are on medicare, etc. they have to go by the rules or they will not get paid.  Hope you find a supplier who can help you.

I go to a clinic associated with a local hospital and they have a group of osteomyelitis nurses that are there to help with skin and other ostomy issues.  Any time I have been in a bind, they have been able to give me supplies.  So I guess my suggestion is to form a relationship with your GI doctor and other resources like that for the next time.  Also, try to build up your supplies so you have some excess.  One way to do this if you can't get what you need from your insurance is to request samples from the different ostomy companies like color last and hollister.  They actually have some really nice kits and things they will send you.  I have tons of stuff and they will send it to you ASAP.
