Hey all. I have heard from a local Ostomate that plain white toothpaste heals irritated skin around stoma very quickly. Not sure how you wear a pouch with toothpaste on the skin though...lol Haven't tried it myself.

Kenbpd53,

Not too sure I'd put toothpaste on my skin, the worry of it drying out and leaving any coating that may make the sticky flange, etc hard to stick.

The old one I've used in the past and it works is the beaten white of an egg.

Apply it to the skin, dry and re-apply and dry and then apply flange.

It's something most have in their fridges if you can not get to a chemist.

When I was younger I recall toothpaste being used on love bites, not that I ever had any to put it to test. lol

Thanks for the reply and tip. Will have to try the egg whites sometime.
