I'm super appreciative to have learned from reading in threads here that the proper way to remove caps or bags is to push the skin away from the adhesive rather than peel the adhesive away from the skin. What a difference I can tell in how it is treating my skin, really good to know; I am super appreciative.

Thank you!

Do you also use an adhesive removal? I have a fistula s so also have a pouch on my back

Which is agony to get off after 2days which is all it lasts. My ostomy is no problem to remove.

I use diaper rash ointment. It is so thickly oily and the zinc is soothing and it protects my skin while I irrigate after removing the adhesive. I'll use any oil handy if I've run out of diaper rash ointment. I use Desitin or Olive Oil or Peanut Oil mostly, then I rub the skin and stoma with Emu Oil. I can sometimes get the adhesive off easily without remover but sometimes I gotta have it or my skin is damaged either subtly or not so much, not a yay.

I really like AllCare Adhesive Remover but the Obama Care apparently reduces the quality of what subsidized insurance pays for and every brand I've tried since I stopped getting them has been worthless. I really appreciate having other alternatives that work, yay baby butt paste

I'm surprised to learn you use Desitin or such because from the very beginning I was told not to use even oily soap or lotion on the skin around the stoma or the adhesive won't stick well afterwards. The tip about pulling the skin rather than the adhesive is worth trying.

By the way, please don't blame "Obamacare" for the insurance company's greediness. Everything gets blamed on the new Care laws but I bet they hadn't even started being enforced yet when your insurance changed it product line.

I got the AllKare Adhesive Remover Wipes sent out again. Apparently the payment is going down from 100 wipes to 50 per month, but the brand is still accepted by Medicaid. Some days I don't need them anyway, somedays I'll use two or three. I'm glad to have them again, it felt rather mean to believe that only substandard stuff was being given for medical well being in this society. Job performance aside, Obama personally I don't knock or elevate, but I do appreciate. And I appreciate very much my fellow Americans for the fact of electing him.
