Should I be alarmed/seek medical help with a minor cut, from pinching, on my stoma?

Are there things I should do, if I don't seek medical help, to help my stoma heal? ...(like one would apply neosporin to a minor cut of the skin)

I am using the new Coloplast SenSura Mio (2 piece) system.  I love it.  I am a bartender in a busy NYC restaurant, and this new system is worlds apart from the Hollister two piece I was using.  But...I pinched my stoma while changing the appliance.  The cinching connection between bag and wafer really gives a sense of security, but is difficult to get on quickly.  Likewise the smaller diameter of the base leaves less room for discharge to get under the wafer -and irritate the skin, but places the stoma (certainly my stoma) closer to the flange.

So this morning, after my shower, while putting on the new appliance I pinched my stoma while pressing the bag down onto the wafer, locking my stoma between the bag and wafer.  Looking through the peep-hole to see if everything was ok, all I saw was blood.  I took the bag off, and carefully replaced it.  I have two minor cuts on my stoma.  They have bled a little, but not much.  My gut feeling is that I don't need to seek emergency help.  But, others may have experienced something similar, and there may be, moving forward, some things I can do to help my stomie (you gotta love Tupac -"Me and my Homies") heal.  What do you think?

No need for alarm, Senor, as long as the bleeding stopped. I am not sure about the usefulness of neosporin given the terrain, but I do know that a little pressure on the cut is all you really need. Here's a good website I recently discovered which sheds some light on ostomy wound care:   http://woundcareadvisor.com/understanding-stoma-complications_vol2-no4/  Good luck.

Don't freak out. This is a semi normal problem for me. I was using the Sensura Click and it clicked a little too well.... and blood was the result. Now I have a few blister like cuts on the underside of Tomi the colostomy. Try some StomaHesive Powder if you can get some. Puff it onto the wound and gently blow the excess away. Keep doing this until the cuts heal.
