I too recently got a stoma support belt, but I got it out of curiosity. I have been lifting heavy items all along with no problem (golf bags, bags of soil and mulch, lumber, etc.). My appliance seems to stick very well without the belt, but I suspect its primary value is in providing confidence to new users. The belt, however, may be really useful if the lifting includes any contact with the stoma device which could possible dislodge it. I would wear it only during the period of heavy lifting. Time will give me, and you, a better understanding of its practicality. Good luck!

Hello primeboy. Thanks for the reply. I got my support belt for lifting like you. As I irrigate I only use a stoma cap so squashing or dislodge isn't a problem. It's quite comfortable, but I feel like I'm wearing a corsett. Great hearing from you.

Hello scorsby. I've used a support belt all the time because I do a lot of lifting - without thinking too much about it. So it seemed sensible to have a precaution in place continuously. I too wear a plug so there is no problem with stopping output as there isn't any.Best wishesBill
