Hi I've not been on the forums in years but I've recently (last week) been relocated by my employer from Tucson, AZ to Raleigh, NC.

I've had Crohn's since '96 and an ileoostomy since 2001.  I'm currently on Humara and my former GI doctor in Tucson was a specialist focused on UC/Crohn's.  My health insurance hasn't caught up to me so I don't yet know what provider I will have but I'm looking for any feedback on known GI's focused on UC/Crohns in the Durham, Raleigh, Cary, areas.  I've already started searching online but looking at whats available profile by profile is not efficient.

Likewise any feedback on what hospitals are better for GI issues? Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, WakeMed, etc.  I truly have no experience with the hospitals here. (In the hospital for obstructions in 09, 12, and 15 (May) all resolved without further surgery) so its most likely I'll be admitted in the next 3 years.

I've looked at a couple of practices Cary Gastroenterology and Wake Endoscopy Center, any thoughts on these practices?

Thank you in advance.

Thanks Mrs.A.  Actually I had to return to Tucson for Thanksgiving and wound up with a small bowel obstruction and spent the holiday week in the hospital.  My former GI doctor's partner a specialist in IBD came in and said he had names of Crohn's/UC specialists at UNC Chapel Hill where they have a IBD clinic.  In my follow up with him on Dec 16th he will have a list of names and contacts there.  Some good news.

Thanks for the response.
