Hi, I had a colostomy since 1985 and use irrigation to flush myself. For the past week or so after I irrigate I do not flush any waste out, but it starts oozing out all day long. If I try to irrigate again nothing still does not come out during irrigation but after I get done it starts oozing out again. This is starting to get very frustrating because normally I just wear a band aid instead of a pouch. I don’t think I have a blockage because I do ooze out a lot during the day.

any help will be appreciated

If you've been irrigating for many years there's probably not much you don't know?

As you would know, the secret to irrigating is getting ALL the water in.

Is the water going in?

If it is, the chances are you have an obstruction of some kind?

I have a parastomal hernia which is definitely interfering with my irrigation process.

There are other "irrigators" on this site who may have some better advice. Bill for one....he is very helpful.

Good luck.
