Hello - I had surgery October 4th for perineal abscess and vaginal fistula repair. I'm still having considerable rectal pain. I have a long history of abscess drainage surgeries ileostomy since age 22. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I return to work on Saturday and I'm very worried.

Thanks,

Jan

Hi Jan,

I would certainly ask your surgeon. Even though I had a portion of My rectum removed, and a Colostomy, I never really had any rectal pain. Just from the Barbie Butt and the the sutures from my chest to my pelvis. Maybe you are going back to work too soon! Especially if you work in a lab and are standing all day.

I appreciate your response and information. Having Crohns disease for 34 years my experience with surgeons is they know how to cut and stitch that's it. Don't hold your breath waiting for follow-up advice or compassion. I'm always on my own trying to figure out what to do next unfortunately.

Take Care
