I have had my stoma bag for just over 12 months now. Generally, I get on well with it with no major problems.
I have noticed that I am regularly passing what looks like small pellets, quite soft. I have mentioned these pellets to my stoma nurse and also my doctor, and they do not seem bothered, but nobody has been able to explain. Does anybody have any info?

My husband had his rectum removed a year ago. Stoma, no real trouble. Would like to learn more about urine coming out of the hole in the rectum stump.

My question relates to the covering of the mochi, the bean paste. Are there any issues with it causing blockage?

I've successfully used the Convatec Durahesive convex wafer for years and gotten great routine wear time.
My stoma (I've had it for almost 48 years—am 68) has become more oval, and now when I put my wafer on, there is skin space on the top and bottom of the wafer.
I've spoken with a couple of ostomy nurses, and they've suggested trying a moldable convex wafer.

Anyone have experience with one of these? I really don't have any issues getting a tight seal, but it gets a bit boring going around and around the stoma with a gloved finger.

Why hasn't anyone thought to make an ostomates cookbook? And a sub-cookbook specifically for ileostomates...

Hello, I am looking for other ladies who have had APR surgery with a permanent colostomy and hysterectomy at the same time. I want to know what recovery was like and any tips you can share.

I'm 11 weeks in for my permanent ileostomy. I'm wanting to order a StealthBelt, but I know I have to wait until my stoma has stopped changing size. It's been the same size for my past several bag changes. How will I know when I've given it enough time to be confident of the size for the belt and to order pre-cut flanges?

This will be a very long post, but I thought it might be useful to get some of my innermost thoughts out on paper now that it's been almost a year since my husband's surgery. I hope that for those of you who stick it out to the end, that it offers you some comfort or at the very least, entertains you for a while.
