I am new to this website and having a little difficulty navigating the site. Can anyone provide input on ileostomy reversal surgery. I had the initial surgery 9 months ago and will meet with a new surgeon soon. Thank you. Helenevic

Hi Helenevic,

If you click on Collections, and then on Premium Content in the drop down menu, you will find lots of posts on reversals. Good luck with your reversal.

Hi Helenevic- Welcome to the site! I had an ileostomy reversal surgery in Feb, 2019 , after having an ileostomy ( resulting from a subtotal colectomy) for 6 months. It was a little rough at first; 8-12 trips to the bathroom per day and I had to be quick about it! Now I average 4-5 trips per day, depending, of course, on how much I eat. I have much better control now than I did initially. I can eat anything I want, but I have to be careful not to eat too much greasy foods. My reversal was a success, due to an exceptional surgeon and I was so happy to get rid of that rotten bag.
