Is this possible? My illeostomy has always had a steady output now I find I'm having no output for 8 to 12 hours at a time! I have a new diagnosis of Gastroparesis and lost my large intestine due to severe motility issues.... I'm thinking this is serious! Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried hot tea or some coke or other soda? Are you in pain?

Hi Newbie,  I'm afraid I don't have any helpful answers for you but I am very interested in your post.  I have had severe motility problems most of my adult life and you are the only other person I have seen on this site with the same problem as me, most got their ostomies due to colitis, chrohns or cancer.  My large bowel ruptured which resulted in having a portion of my large bowel removed and I ended up with a colostomy.  It wasn't until after the colostomy that it became clear that my motility issues were still there and I'm now waiting for surgery for an ileostomy.  The doctors tell me that will be the answer to my problems but after reading your post I am quite alarmed.  I had to google gastroparesis and it doesn't sound very good. I would be very grateful if you could keep us updated on your progress and where you go from here.  I sure hope they figure things out for you.  All the best.
