I have a colostomy  and have a question    I wear a one piece  drainable  bag 12 in long.   and I wear it in a up and down position   but it does stick out  from under my  panties.   I have noticed that others wear theres sideways  is this better  to do this  or should I think about a smaller bag

Hi little red. I was not a fan of wearing my bag horizontally but lots of people love it.  You could try it next time you change and see how it works for you.  I personally like to angle mine so it's not straight up and down but not sideways either. It seems to make emptying easier.  If you want to try a smaller bag like a 10" reach out to the company that makes the one you currently use and see if they'll give you a sample to try.  That way you'll know if it works for you before you commit to a whole box that might not work.  Hope you find a solution that works!

Thanks for your reply.   I see we are neighbors   well sort of.  I live on the Il/Wi line   So Beloit.  Have been to Appleton several times.  Glad to see someone close by.  I have tried several  products  ( samples )  from diffrent Co's   I have found I don't like filters as they dig into me when I bend over  to bad they don't put the filters higher or lower.  I wonder if wearing the bag sideways  a filter would work.   I use Hollister  88400 and really like the product as I have a parastomal hernia and so far only Hollister has a  product that sticks  and I have tried different Companys.
