Experiences with Barbie Butt Surgery Post-Colostomy

I have a descending colostomy. I am wondering if anyone has had to have a BB due to painful mucus that won't come out only with enemas. I need to do several enemas a day. The mucus is a greenis color most of the time.when they do a BB do they need to change from a colostomy to an iliostomy?  What is the recovery time for the BB?

You will still have your colostomy. It was at least a couple or three weeks before the stitches came out. If you get it do not ware too thick of a pad on your incision as it will put extra pressure on it.

Hi Anne. I don't know how long it's been since your surgery, but there have been many people who had the mucus thing subside in time and become very manageable eventually. There might be other problems related to the BB that could be way worse. Get yourself all the expert advice you can before making a decision.
