Hi

I have found this site extremely helpful.

Especially the foods to eat. The dietician and the nurse made it seem like a life-changing event on dining out, foods not to eat, especially one of my comfort foods, arroz con frijoles negros (black beans and rice). I couldn't eat salads before due to flare-ups. Now, with no colon to worry about, I'll give it a go.

I discovered on my own... support belts. Wow, what a big help. They conceal the bag, keep it from the annoying bounce when I'm active, and I can tighten it up for support when doing anything strenuous. I love it so much I'm ordering a swim one (eBay has both types for under 50).

Hi Baltimore

Just be careful with the salad stuff. I love my salad, but it pours like a tap, lol 😂 Enjoy your food xx

Glad you found us! Beware, there are consequences to eating some of your favorite foods! As you have probably read over and over, chewing all foods really well is one of the main things. Try small amounts of a new food to see how you do. Only add one new thing at a time so you know what it causes or doesn't cause. Diarrhea with fibrous foods can be annoying and cause severe dehydration. I have a colostomy so I do have a colon and mine reacts a bit differently than an ileostomy. Still causes diarrhea!
Keep us posted on your new foods!
Have fun with it and enjoy!
