Last year I had ulcers on  the skin around my stoma. At the hospital the consultant said it was Ulcerative Colitis on the outside of my body.

My Stoma nurse said in all the years she had been a stoma nurse she had only seen pictures of it in books.

Two courses of Steroids healed the ulcers and I'm pleased to say my skin is good now..though scarred where the ulcers were.

Has anyone else on here had this problem? I only hear of people having sore skin around the stoma but not Ulcerative Colitis.

Honestly, I never heard of such a thing. It could have been a very bad case of excoriated skin caused by leakage under the stomahesive or karaya seal.
