Is Passing Blood After Ostomy Surgery Normal?

I had my ostomy surgery 4 yesterday ago but in the last week I have been passing blood from my rectum is this normal I am getting worried now

Hi!

     It could be normal if you're irrigating or somehow damaging the skin near the surface of your bum. I think you should talk to your doctor if you can't think of a definitive reason for it happening. It's definitely better to know for sure. I'd give your doctor a call so you don't have to keep worrying. Especially if it's nothing. Life is hard enough. Take care. ❤️

Please check with your Doctor..or go to emergency if it is a large amount of blood.

I would agree with maried, wether it's two days two years twenty years if it's new to you then seek urgent advice. My motto is better safe than sorry. Please let us know how you get on XX
