OKAYI need advice. I have my ostomy for about a year. I lost due to sigmoid colon perferation. My doctor made me go and see this wonderful doctor at very highly ranked hospital here in mo. So this is what i'm facing. I'm a at least one surgery now on my abdominal area because my hearia area is to large and they are afraid that the mess could be spreating. The second problem i'm a burn victim and this was supposed to be a tempoary ostomy. I still have everything inside me. So they want to rehook me back up and redo my abdominal area all in one. or face two surgeries and having a revision done too.

i'm in so much better health than before, alot of meds. on my own. but my doctors will not approve me to work unless i have this surgery......

Hi Labrat. Sounds like you don't completely trust your doctors and that you are not confident that their plan of treatment is correct. In these situations I recommend getting a second opinion from an outside specialist. Depending on your age, you may be well advised to address all these issues in one procedure if protocols allow. Your present sense of well being may be short-lived in light of that spreading mess in the hernia area. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Get the reversal and don't wait for a problem with the hernia. I had the same and waited. My hernia became obstructed and had to have an ileostomy and then a reversal. Not worth a third surgery. I'm 100% okay now but suffered unnecessarily from a third surgery. Good luck!
