I have been down this week with a stomach bug that is apparently running rampant right now. I feel better but still have diarrhea. And I am very tired! I am not new to this, but I just wondered how you all handle a stomach bug? Obviously, I need to drink a lot, but are there certain foods that help you? I have mostly been eating soup and crackers. I wanted something more tonight though, so I went with a baked potato. Not sure yet how that will go over. What do you all eat?

I haven't had the experience since my ostomy, but I would think a bland diet, like the B.R.A.T. Diet, avoid fats & dairy products until you're feeling better. Probably wouldn't hurt to drink some Liquid IV or similar to replace the electrolytes you're losing either.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

I don't eat a lot when I have a stomach bug. I eat the odd piece of toast; other than that, nothing. Yes, it does make you feel very tired and weak. Drinking Dioralyte or an alternative a few times a day might go some way to helping.

This past couple of weeks, I was feeling off. My bag was constantly filling with black/green fluids. I realized it was the stomach bug.
I'm new to having an ileostomy, so at first, I wasn't sure what was happening. But now that I'm feeling better, the output is returning to a thicker/light brown.

I wasn't eating much, but I did have bread, crackers, ginger ale, and lots of water. Make sure you're getting sodium. If you have access to liquid vitamins, take them.

I use advanced wound care vitamins. They make me gag, super sweet. But, they help.

Best of luck 🍀

Hello. Keep hydrated for sure because a lot of output will make you dehydrated. Thin output too can make you dehydrated. Eating soup is good. Crackers are good. Go with bland foods. Maybe cream of wheat. Jello is definitely a good one though because it will give you a little hydration.
