Ahoy Stomey mates!
Yer land lubber Beachboy dude reporting in.
Been a glorious and grand cruise so far.
I've been somewhat careful about not eating too much. After Cayman Island yesterday, today is a sea day, on our way to Aruba.
While Mrs B attended a skin rejuvenation seminar at the health spa, I meandered up to the buffet for lunch and sat at a large table. An older lady noticed I had munched dessert first. Inquired, "Why?" Gave her my best "Lieutenant Columbo" stare, then intoned: "Life's uncertain." Everyone laughed.
Good thing Mrs B wasn't there to give me snake eyes.
Tonight we're going to a specialty restaurant called the Lawn Club.

Cayman Island recap:
Georgetown, Grand Cayman Island was welcoming and charming. Enjoyed fair skies and calm winds. Mrs B ventured out on her own. Went on a tour to a bay teeming with stingrays. She swam with 'em. Posed for photos with 'em. Alas, not stung by 'em 😊.
I embarked on a bicycle adventure to some well-known places along the coast. Had to be extra careful; everyone here drives on the left. First stop, an unusual
natural rock formation affectionately called... HELL. And sure enough, a little red devil was placed appropriately, smack dab, in the center. They also have a post office. Great for sending postcards from HELL to friends, relatives, and ex-spouses.

I think I see him...

After HELL, we pedaled along "7 Mile Beach." Soft, brilliant white sand against an azure sea.

Next stop was a rum shop. I enjoyed a nip of chocolate-flavored rum and cake. Bought a pretty cool fridge magnet.

Our final pit stop was a "7 Mile Beach" resort. I relaxed on a recliner under a shady umbrella and watched the clouds and bikinis float by. I chuckled thinking about Mrs B tiptoeing through the stingrays.

Have stoma, will travel

Lynn

Hey Beachboy,

Sounds like you're having an amazing time on your cruise! I'm sure you'll find plenty of support and camaraderie from this large community as you continue your adventures. It's great to hear about your experiences and how you're managing everything while traveling.

As for your dessert-first approach, I totally get itβ€”sometimes you just have to enjoy the sweet things in life first! It's awesome that you're able to keep a sense of humor and enjoy yourself, even with the unique challenges that come with traveling. Your story about the Cayman Islands and Aruba is inspiring, and it shows that having a stoma doesn't have to limit your adventures.

Congrats on being part of this community! You'll find lots of support, information, and some really cool people here who understand what you're going through. Keep sharing your stories; they're a great reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest!

Enjoy every minute, Beachboy, and remember: Stressed is desserts spelled backwards, so never miss an opportunity to eat 'em.

Had some great chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, and topped it off with a dandy sugar donut. Lucky my support belt is Velcro adjustable. πŸ˜‰

Tomorrow we make port in Curaçao. I'll be up early to walk the 15 floors of stairs inside the ship. Hopefully, I will burn off a few of the thousands of calories I've consumed.

I'm going on a bus tour of the island, ending with lunch served on the beach. After this island, we have 2 sea days churning back to Fort Lauderdale. I love sea days. Nothing I have to do. Stroll around the pool. Relax on my balcony, watch the clouds float by. Have room service deliver lunch. Sip an Apple Martini.....or 2 πŸ˜‰

Looking out to sea. Bright light is a cargo ship; the white strip on the left is a small sandbar.

Sea days sound most relaxing. Ah, and those apple martinis 🍸 enjoy the scenery.

It is great. Nothing I had to do except mosey around the ship. I had a couple of soft serve chocolate ice cream cones. Pizza slices. They had a pasta bar. I had freshly made bow tie and rigatoni pasta with meat sauce. Later by the pool, a cheeseburger and fries. Then I went up to deck fourteen to the Sky Lounge for apple martinis and relaxing by the huge picture windows. Nothing but ocean and scattered clouds stretching to the far horizon. Then back to my cabin for a nap on the balcony. Gotta rest up for dinner. 😊
