Is It Normal to See Blood Around a Stoma?

Im taking care of my father in law and when I was cleaning around his stoma there was blood is this normal

As long as it is just a little. Mine sometimes shows a small amount when I'm changing. Once I dap some toweling onto it, it stops.

Hello Nick.  It's as Mrs A. says - if there is only a little it's probably nothing to worry about. Mine is a regular bleeder but it soon stops with a dry wipe.  Anyway, thanks for posting your question as it is a useful reminder that some people are in need of someone else to look out for them. Those of us who can manage the condition ourselves are indeed quite fortunate in this regard.
