I am very self-concious, so I curious how other scares look and how other people feel about their healed abdomen? It has been a little over a year since my reversal and my plumbing is working fine; but boy, will I ever have that 6 pack again?

I have a 6 pack alright...but it's insulated. (by layers of fat). I don't think I will ever like it, but I'm getting more and more used to it again. Part of my problem is that i need to lose a lot of weight, like 50 lbs. I used to feel like I had a "butt" in the front, from where the scar divided my abdomen. I don't even notice it much anymore.

I have seen pics of people who have great bodies post surgery, so i guess it's possible. I think you can do it, but give it time.

My ileostomy was an emergency operation surgery that was pretty painfull. And the stitches/staples in the middle of my abdomen were performed really good, considering all thats involved. This was done by my first original surgeon at the CLE Clinic; inwhich he told me that after the reversal I will look as good as new. Well, then after 7 months I had the reversal done at the VA Hospital; I had to have it their because of the VA is my medical Insurance provider. This operation was done by a different surgeon. And, frankly I don't like the way my abdomen turned out looking. I probably shouldn't be complaining, but I believe I have a right to! Don't get me wrong, I am very greatful and lucky that I don't have to wear the colostomy bags the rest of my life. However, the surgeon could have done a better job on stitching/stapling me up. This is what or why I need other opinions and pictures of, from similar males who have had reversals that may have been a model or have been in good physical shape at the time; so I may get some kind of comparison of the aftermath of a reversal surgery a year or more recovered. Thank you for any help.
