I had seven inches of my colon removed 11/30/17 and JUST got my “moontime” after almost four months without it. I knew something was off as i literally couldn’t get out of bed, and felt like I had a blockage or something. Right side (where ileostomy js) got super distended and walking became painful. And o have been eating a lot more than usual - oh and watching way too much Golden Girls (always a sign, lol). Just wondering if this first time after such a gnarly surgery (open surgery after laparoscopic wasn’t enough and emergency ileostomy) is a lot more severe. As it seems to be for me. Horrible pain and mood swings. My apologies in advance if this has been covered already at length as I couldn’t seem to find the search function on my phone (and it’s 5:24 am here in LA!.

Anyways, any Information of stories would be greatly appreciated. At least I know that it’s still working!!cheers,

Stomarella, please accept my apologies in advance. I'm a guy and know nothing about your situation except that you're in physical and emotional discomfort, and that shouldn't be. I saw no one replied to your post, so I jumped in. Please re-post with a different title like "I'm hurting" or "I'm in pain". Hopefully, that might get the attention of people who do know what you're going through.

Respectfully,

Mike

OK, lady to lady, if you have that much pain - YOU HAVE A PROBLEM! Sometimes you can develop an adhesion after surgery, and it may be that type of problem. Before your period, you body is preparing to cradle a baby by ramping up the production of blood vessels within the womb, swelling it and moving it slightly inside your body. That's why pre-menstual swelling and water retention and weight gain. No fertilization, no baby, and the womb contracts and drains out the excess blood - thus your period. Note I said "contracts", meaning it is once again moving and pulling on any adhesions which may have formed. One possible cause of the pain.

Even if it is not that, you REALLY should get checked out right away, as this is obviously more than just a case of cramping during your cycle.

Thank you for replying Mike!!! I didn't want to be too dramatic but it was a little scary. Surgeon said it was fairly normal.....and I have a history with issues of that nature. But next time (knock on wood there won't be) I'll be a little more strategic with my post titles :)
