Hello,
Trying a new thing. Fasting for 16 hours. From 8 pm to noon.
I keep having ostomy gas during the late morning. I know to stop this is to eat.
Any ideas... besides eating something? LOL

I was looking to see if there was anything new in ostomy bags online and came across this. So true!

WORKING BLIND.

With rhymes, I very often find
that when a concept comes to mind
it is because they affect me
in some small way quite personally.

Today I had a small eye op,
which made the sight in one eye stop
and as my glasses would not fit
I only saw through a small slit.

So there I was, more than half blind
wondering how I would find
a way to manage my stoma
with the output and aroma ...

Today is the big day. Surgery #2 of 3. Having my J-pouch constructed resulting in a loop ileostomy for the recovery.
I'm much more calm going into this one with the experience I have from my first stoma. Fingers crossed no NG tube.
Overall the past year has been great. I've been able to eat and drink whatever I want, I've doubled in size (muscle) from pushing myself at the gym, I've traveled ...

I've had an ileostomy for 3 years. I'm going in for surgery to have the ileostomy reversed and hooked back up. Parastomal hernia repaired. I am getting small holes in the lock and roll closure area. This never used to be a problem. It has been more than one lot number of bags.

Hi all.
I've had a loop ileostomy due to cancer for nearly 6 years. Due to problems following surgery, I developed an anastomotic leak, which caused sepsis, after being discharged from the hospital. I was readmitted and recovered with a drainage operation and lots of intravenous antibiotics.

Nothing is more comfortable than nothing, or close to it.
