Seeking Relief from Gas Without Giving Up Favorite Foods

Hi all,  I know I read somewhere on this forum about gas and what some people were doing to solve the problem, but I can't for the life of me find it.  I think my discomfort is coming from gas, not much room for gas to disperse when you only have your small bowel hooked up, and when I do get some out it feels much better.  The thing is I love all the foods that cause gas, and I really don't want to give them up as they are also really healthy foods, onions, garlic, many vegetables, beans, spices.  Are there things you can take that counteract gas? Does Beano work?  I've never tried it.  Any other ideas, short of eliminating all gas causing foods would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Terry~

I've heard for years that adding baking soda to the soaking water for dried beans can be helpful in reducing gas.  And, I've also been told that reducing/eliminating carbonated beverages (beer, soda, hard cider, sparkling cider & wines) is a smart move.

Yes, Beano and other gas-reducing OTCs are obvious choices.
