Hi,
My boring story and beware I can not spell, sorry.
I started having horrable intestinal pains right after the holidays(christmas, new years)of this year. I had been diagnosed with IBS in the past so I just figured that was what my pro was. However it continued thru early April and knowing that Chrones runs in my family my primary Doc sent me for a colonastmy and when I went to have that done I was running a fever of 101(infection?) they went ahead and attempted it but could not get in. They sent me on my merry way and with in hours after getting home I was in a squad to our local hospitals er. The next day I was having emergancy surgery and woke up with my colstamy.
I was lucky enough to have the finest surgen in our area perform the procedure and for the last 3 months he has been very honest with me about my chances of a sucsessful reveversal. 'difficult,if not imposable"
Yesterday I had a colonastamy and he also went thru my stoma. He sounds more optamistic after that but said he will have to use a "stabalizer" and they tend to leak more then hand sowen reversals. Can anybody enlighten me about this and what to expect as far as recovery time from my reversal. I spent 9 days in hospital and missed 8 weeks of work after the initial surgery. And frankly I am still not back to 100%.
I have not mentally accepted my bag at this point cause I have had hope for a reversal, however if he cant reverse it then I shall change my mindset to acceptance.
I just need feedback info and support from ya'll
Thank You in advance
