I am going to the hospital finally. I thought I did this for the forum 3 hours ago but couldn't find it. It's now 6:14 AM, a few hours to go. I think I might have some blockage. I thought I could do this on my own, but my meds are not working too well now. I think I have had way too much pain medication. I have been told by the STN to go to the emergency room. The stoma stopped working Tuesday night. Pain! Then I thought taking more medicine was getting me through, just barely. A couple of hours of work need to help out at the association, then present oneself to hell... hospital again. Can't keep fluid up enough. Anyway, bye. Cheers, Mooza. Just hope they can do more than I think they will. X

Oh no! Mooza, are you back yet and if so, are you okay!?

Please let me know how the hospital trip was, and whether or not the issue was resolved without too many problems.

*big hugs* to you!

Hope everything came out okay. Yes, I have to be the funny one. Nothing is worse than the pain of obstruction or blockages. Keep a stock of broth in your cupboard and freezies/popsicles, lots of freezies/popsicles. I will go for days and simply survive on those to avoid a trip to the hospital. However, I am totally backwards when it comes to anything; I find that room temperature applesauce also gets things moving a bit. Wishing you luck. Keep us informed of what happens!

Hi Mooza, I find drinking lots of fruit juice helps to move things for me when I have a blockage, or even Gatorade, not sure if you have that in Australia. Good luck, Ron in Mich.

Hey guys, thanks. Unfortunately, they couldn't find anything. My little lovely stoma started working, but I am still really sore. I feel like I have colic, but the stinging and burning subsided. Problem

I already know I have so much scar tissue. I don't understand really; nerve damage can't feel parts of the abdomen. The doctor gave me two endo morphine; they had to crush it. Glad Chezza's stoma started working on the day I went, so they couldn't do anything. B.B., I have to go back to pain management. Doctors, I don't think I can stand getting this bad. I take enough pain relief, or more than I don't want to do this... It's too hard, just so hard. Buddy, I usually am the funny one, and yes, we have Gatorade, everything food-wise. We are modern, LOL.

So, back to pain management. I am lost (amazingly) for words of what to do. It's surgery and probably suffer more. Maybe hope is that light I had on all the time through 20 years. OMG, it's been that long. Hope fades a lot, won't let go yet. A thought, maybe the scar tissue gets a bit inflamed and causes chaos on the body. Ugh, thank God I didn't have to stay in; it upsets me. OK, I have to take all meds by the doctor's orders, not Dr. Mooz. Sorry, writing wrong. I am a bit too loaded.

Hey Mooza, I really hope that you'll be feeling better soon.  Do you have pain always or just when you have blockages? Didn't know that blockages would still be an issue after colectomy (I'm so ignorant!).  You have been so helpful and love your sense of humor and I would like to join the others on this site in wishing you the best and sending lots of hugs.

Good to hear you're home and better.
When I was having blockages, the ER staff would give me a shot of Demerol, and for some reason, it worked?
