Does Every Good Day Have to End with a Bad Surprise?

So yesterday I decided to do something I had planned to do in the summer, but due to hospital stays and operations, I wasn't able to! I took my little brother to Thorpe Park! For those who don't know, it's a theme park with lots of huge roller coasters! I was a little nervous at first, worrying that my bag would fill up in the queues and I'd have to stop queuing to empty it, or the bars would come down and burst it, but I didn't have that problem at all! We had a really good day and I was so happy that I could get back to being normal. As an extra plus, I came home and my partner had tidied the whole house and cooked dinner! So yesterday was great! But I woke up this morning and my lovely little bag had decided to leak on me and all underneath my wound dressing! Wasn't a very pretty sight for the eyes, ha ha. I gave it a little clean up and changed the dressing myself (a nurse normally does it), didn't want it sitting there getting infected! Luckily, I've got an appointment to see the nurse to get the dressing done today anyway, so she can sort it out for me properly! Felt pretty annoyed that it held up so well yesterday and leaked overnight!!!!

Not always, Sophie. But isn't life also like a theme park of sorts with lots of huge rollercoasters? I try to manage all its ups and downs but occasionally run into trouble with the curves. Be primarily happy that your bag held up so well yesterday, and you'll find that the overnight leak will not diminish the success of your really good day. PB

Hello Sophie96.It's just as Primeboy has said. Think of the good times and take the bad times in your stride. The bad times tend to be much better once they are done and dusted. They become part of your colourful life-story. If everything was good then what would be left to contrast and compare.Best wishesBill

I bought a waistband from Comfizz, and it held my bag and my dressing down for a day and a half. It cost me just over ten quid, and my bags don't stick at all because there's an inch between the stoma and the scar. However, they do kind of cut my bag capacity down. It doesn't really restrict the flow, but I notice the air in the bag more now. Oh, and mine doesn't leak at night now! It's properly good! I was very impressed!

Hiya, I was thinking about looking into getting a support belt type thing. Lol, I'm constantly worrying about leaks; it's driving me a bit stir-crazy! Ha ha. I always use the supports you can stick around the edge of the bag to help hold it on, but sometimes they don't even stick very much! x

The waistbands from Comfizz are really good. I've got one in each color and they do hold everything in place.
