Hi everyone, I had a CT scan today that showed possible mesenteric panniculitis. I have pain in my hip/pelvic area on the same side as the stoma that showed up a couple of weeks after surgery. My doctor put in a referral to see a colorectal doctor, so hopefully, I will get an appointment soon. I did some research and found that it's, one, very rare and underreported, and two, it could be a result of abdominal surgery. I've had two open surgeries within a month due to diverticulitis resulting in my colostomy. Has anyone had mesenteric panniculitis, pelvic pain after surgery, or know anyone who has? I'm six weeks post-op, and I'm so scared. I did see that sometimes it goes away on its own, so I'm trying to be hopeful, but I'm truly scared.
