UTILISING IRRIGATION.

Utilising irrigation
for the long-term mitigation
of continual conditions
is one of my long-term traditions.

I tend to gargle quite a lot
to irrigate my throat of grot,
for food will stick right at the back
which can create a cough-attack.

Plain water tends to dislodge it
which helps it to combine with spit,
then, I may swallow once again
hoping it goes down without pain.

I often irrigate each ear,
as well as irrigate my rear,
for when I was incontinent
that was how my time was spent

But now I have an ostomy
this irrigation’s changed for me
as now, water’s pumped in my tum’
more often than my failing bum.

Although, I feel I should admit
that, though I can no longer shit
from my anus, I still have got
to irrigate my mucus grot.

I also irrigate my nose
with Beconase which helps and slows
production of the snot that grows
blocking and stopping breathing flows.

Thus, I for one, will irrigate,
and rarely ever hesitate,
as this method seems efficient
for chronic condition containment.

The only irrigating I do

Is the flushing of the loo

I wear a bag for all my poop

Encasing stoma and a loop

In stoma life there is no glitter

We must find ways to shed our litter

We then find ways to laugh at shit

And how we must get rid of it

Though irrigation's not for me

I still admire your levity
